I will be collecting donations for the Gris Espaço Solidário-Casa Maria de Lourdes, located in the Várzea neighborhood, Recife-PE. It was created in August 2018 with the aim of offering assistance to the population in a condition of socioeconomic vulnerability living in its surroundings.
The entity, financed through donations and solidarity bazaars, primarily serves children and young people from 5 to 15 years old and their families. Activities include: distribution of basic food baskets, cleaning and hygiene materials, appliances and clothes, medical care, holistic therapies; therapeutic support, social support, pedagogical support, school reinforcement and Chess and English classes.
In this context of COVID's Pandemic19, all efforts are aimed at ensuring the minimum dignity of families served by the space and families in need in the neighborhood. The money collected will be used to purchase basic baskets, hygiene and cleaning kits, fabric masks, fruits, vegetables, alcohol 70 and medications.
About Dystopian EN.tropies
In an ever-increasing dystopian world, with more and more control of corporate giants, institutions, technologies, extremists & religious ideologies, we have witnessed the rise of autocracies, dictatorships, and oppressive systems all around the globe.
How do we build ourselves in the world? How can we understand which circles we're part of and where they impact? How to rethink our contexts and interactions? How can we exist without echoing or reinforcing racism, misogyny, homophobia, and violence? How to break the dystopian structures, generating more entropy, more randomness, more unpredictability, more chaos, more voices and diversity into the existing systems? How to create networks, communities, and spaces of support that foster mutual growth? How to become the driving force in the creation of emergent organic systems to rebalance the world?
Dystopian EN.tropies was created to provoke a reflection on these contexts and to open a space for dialogue, collaboration, co-creation, and change.
Welcome to this journey with me!
