in Brazil” com o sr. Rafael de Oliveira Santos, da TKOCYAN.
Abstract:
FPSO: THE CURRENT TRUTH FOR
OIL PRODUCTION IN BRAZIL
The actual future of
Brazil’s oil production is well defined, the Pre-salt. Nevertheless, what still
under definition is the best strategy to turn this operation competitive enough
to achieve significant share on the global oil market. A definite solution
is something far from the current present, once the challenges are constant and
the experience exploring this fields is still under development. However, if we
have some kind of certainty today it is related to the utilization of Floating,
Production, Storage and Offloading platforms as the alternative for producing
in this areas.
The idea of the lecture is
to introduce basic concepts of this type of platform design, its advantages to
be considered as the best alternative so far for producing in the pre-salt as
well as its challenges and the impacts of this field’s fluid characteristics on
the FPSO topside design. In addition it will be presented a brieth overview of
the current FPSO market and its expectations in the future including
possibilities to improve and even overcome this technology.
