O IEP – Instituto de Engenharia do Paraná realizará no dia 21 de julho de 2021, às 14h00, a Palestra Internacional "GEOTHERMAL ENERGY PILE FOUNDATIONS FOR HEATING AND COOLING BUILDINGS" com, o Professor Dr. Rao Martand Singh. O evento é uma promoção do Espaço da Tecnologia e Inovação, da Câmara Técnica de Processos e Tecnologia Mecânica, e conta com os apoios: FENEMI - Federação Nacional de Engenharia Mecânica e Industrial, ASHRAE Brasil - American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers.

Prof. Rao Martand Singh is a Professor of Geotechnical Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the NTNU, Norway. Previously he worked as an Asst Prof at the University of Surrey, UK and as a Research Fellow on geothermal at Monash University, Australia. He read his PhD at Geoenvironmental Research Centre (GRC), Cardiff University, UK. 

He obtained his MTech in Geotechnical Engineering from IIT Delhi and BEng in Civil Engineering from MBM Jodhpur, India. Dr Singh has got 15 years of national and international experience in the area of geothermal energy pile foundations, energy tunnels, energy walls, soil-structure interaction, nuclear waste disposal, gas/liquid flow characteristic of cement bentonite used in cut-off walls and borehole walls, thermal properties/suction measurement techniques, thermo-hydro-mechanical (THM) behaviour of unsaturated soils and geosynthetics, and landfill liner and cover design. His research has been awarded in the form of best paper awards in 2013, 2016 and 2017 from prestigious international journals including ICE.
