Eleonora Coelho

Eleonora Coelho obtained her law degree from the University of São Paulo (USP) and obtained her master’s degree in Civil law, Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods from the Paris II – Panthéon-Assas University. She acts as arbitrator and attorney in several national and international arbitration proceedings. Ms. Coelho is member of the body of arbitrators of many Arbitration and Mediation Chambers in Brazil. She was also part of the commission of attorneys responsible for the reform of the Arbitration Act which originated Law 13.129/15 and has published several articles on arbitration, as well as ministered classes and lectures regarding the subject.

José Maria Pérez

José has been a partner at Bredin Prat since 2003. He is part of both the international arbitration and the corporate teams. Qualified to practice both in France and in Ecuador, he has acted as counsel in a number of institutional and ad hoc international arbitration proceedings, advising and representing clients in disputes with a nexus to Europe, Latin and North America, and Africa. Given his strong experience in corporate matters, José has a particular expertise in post-M&A and shareholders’ disputes, but is also active more generally in commercial and investment disputes. Member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague since 2019, and (alternate) member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration during the 2012-2015 period. Aside from his actuation as counsel and arbitrator, José lectures on international business law and cross-border M&A University of Paris and Sciences Po, and on international arbitration at the Sorbonne Abu Dhabi University and the University of Assas-Pantheon.

Catarina Monteiro Pires

Catarina Monteiro Pires is a full-time Professor of the Law Faculty of the University of Lisbon and holds master Ph.D in Private Law from the same Law Faculty, where she held the chair of Law of Obligations, International Commercial Law, Arbitration and Mediation, between others. She is Author of several books in the fields of the Law of Obligations, Contract Law and of International Commercial Arbitration. She acts as an arbitrator in national and international, ad hoc and institutional, commercial arbitration proceedings, both as co-arbitrator and as president and specializes in arbitration in Portuguese-speaking countries (Portugal, Brazil, Angola and Mozambique). She is on the list of arbitrators of local and international arbitration centers, namely those of the South China International Economic and Trade Commission (Shenzen Court of International Arbitration), the Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Canada (CAM-CCBC), the Business Mediation and Arbitration Chamber – Brazil (CAMARB), the Brazilian Mediation and Arbitration Center (CBMA), Câmara de Arbitragem do Mercado | B3 (Brazil) and the Commercial Arbitration Centre of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Portugal). Before becoming a practitioner specialized in dispute resolution, Catarina gained significant experience in M&A, representing clients in transactions, as well as in capital markets and in other commercial operations during 10 years. She is admitted to the Portuguese Bar since 2003.

 

Mariana Conti Craveiro

Mariana Conti Craveiro is a Brazilian-based attorney with extensive expertise in Corporate Law and M&A transactions. She is holds a bachelor degree in Law from University of Sao Paulo Law School, where she pursued also a Master’s and a Ph.D degree in Commercial Law. Mariana is the author of publications in Corporate Law, Commercial Law and Arbitration. She seats as co-arbitrator, President and sole arbitrator in arbitral proceedings under ICC Rules and is listed in the main Brazilian arbitral institutions. Mariana is fluent in Portuguese, English, Italian and German.

Cristiano de Sousa Zanetti

Cristiano de Sousa Zanetti is a Tenured Associate Professor of Private Law of the Law School of the University of São Paulo. He holds a JD (1999), an LL.M (2003), an S.J.D. (2007) and an Habilitation/Professorship (2011) from the same institution. He also holds an LL.M in Roman Legal System, Unification of Law and Integration Law from the Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata (2006), in Rome, Italy. Cristiano de Sousa Zanetti is duly enrolled with the Brazilian Bar Association and admitted to practice Law since 2000. He regularly works as arbitrator and legal expert in domestic and international disputes, involving various issues of Private Law and, specially, Contract Law. Cristiano de Sousa Zanetti has authored several books and academic papers and is frequently awarded in the main professional rankings for his activity as arbitrator and expert witness.
