The EIC is glad to announce the Breakfast in Rio:  OPEX and ABEX Opportunities with Ocyan

Ocyan is a company that provides solutions for the upstream offshore oil and gas industry in Brazil and abroad. The company's fleet comprises five drilling units and two FPSO (floating, production, storage and offloading) vessels. Ocyan also develops SURF projects, manufactures and installs subsea equipment, and provides offshore maintenance services.

In December of 2022, Ocyan announced the winning of three valuable contracts with Petrobras. They participated in Petrobras's bid to charter deepwater drilling units. Of the 12 units in dispute, in the three proposed lots, Ocyan won in lot 2 with two assets (ODNI I and ODN II) and lot 3 with Norbe VI.

ANP (Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis) is a federal agency under the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME). They are responsible for implementing national policy for the energy sector of oil, natural gas and biofuels and for regulating industry activities in Brazil.

As of April 27, 2020, ANP has published Resolution No. 817/2020, which details the process for decommissioning oil, natural gas, and coal production facilities, as well as disposing and reverting assets. The resolution also revokes ANP resolutions No. 27/2006, 28/2006 and 25/2014. By modernizing and simplifying procedures, the industry will gain opportunities for more investments and new business.
