Descrição do evento

Nowadays, air pollution is an environmental and public health problem of special interest due to its impacts on human health. In recent years, in the city of Lima, PM2.5 levels have exceeded Peruvian threshold, and although there is an active air quality monitoring system, an important limitation related to spatial and temporal distributions is associated. In order to characterize the air pollution related to PM2.5 in the city of Lima, for 2019, artificial intelligent models were built based on meteorological, demographic, traffic and urban land uses data. Hourly models were selected based on different parameters and variables: sampler height, average traffic intensity, average temperature and wind speed. The selected models explained great part of the variability of PM2.5. Professor Edwin Villanueva from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru will offered solutions to these problems in the context of a Fapesp Sprint Project. Two seminars with a duration of 2 hours will be presented dealing with these issues: overview of Artificial Intelligent Modeling (AIM) and development of air quality monitoring systems in the Metro Lima using lows cost sensors and AIM techniques.
