The Ohio State University: Impact of COVID-19 on US and Brazil-US relations

The Ohio State Brazil Gateway will host Brazilian and Ohio attorney, Kessia Cericola, Ohio State Moritz College of Law alumna for its fifth webinar. See below:

The past two months have been marked by an unexpected pandemic, which has proved to be more than a public health crisis. Several American states have enacted "stay-at-home orders", and as the orders begin to be lifted, the United States may be on its way to one of the biggest economic crises in its history. In this webinar, attorney Kessia Cericola will address topics such as measures taken by the American government to mitigate the socioeconomic impacts of the crisis, the impact on politics and culture, including the impact on Brazil / US relations, and how the “invisible enemy” will continue to change the American lifestyle and way of doing business.

Bio:

Kessia Cericola is a lawyer in Brazil and the US (Ohio). In 2012, she obtained LL.M. with a concentration in Business Law at The Ohio State Moritz College of Law. In 2016, Kessia led the Columbus Bar Association's International Law Committee, and is currently a member of the board of directors of the Greater Columbus Sister Cites International, which manages, among others, the sister city relationship between Columbus, Ohio, and Curitiba, Brazil. Kessia is also a qualified interpreter with the Supreme Court of Ohio. She works at her office, Cericola LLC, in Columbus, Ohio, assisting companies and individuals with their legal needs and providing cross-cultural assistance, with a Brazil-US focus.
