7th INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ICF Education: after 20 years.

Six of these events were held in different countries in the last few years, aimed at clinicians and researchers interested in the educational challenges involved in the development and implementation of the ICF internationally. Holding this event will certainly serve to show advantages of studies on the ICF and to make a proposal to the next 20 years.

For the first time, the symposium can be held by all participating countries, simultaneously. Previous events have presented successful practical experiences on ICF teaching, based on the biopsychosocial model proposed by WHO. The realization of the event totally online is an opportunity for researchers and professionals who use ICF to present their experiences and advances in the implementation and teaching of ICF as an initiative that stimulates and develops Education.

It is important to highlight that the ICF and related instruments were developed according to a biopsychosocial and person-centered conception, to be of universal use and can be used by any health professionals with adequate training. WHO currently recommends the use of the ICF in the care of health professionals - as is done today with the ICD - as a way to improve both the development and monitoring of individual health care management plans and public policies for health care.

Goals

The aim of this symposium is to commemorate 20 years teaching ICF and to discuss how to teach it in the next 20 years. The intended results of the symposium will be a set of recommendations and actions for collaboration between participants (specialists in the areas of ICF, in interprofessional education and collaborative practice, primary and digital health, managers as well as patients / clients).

An article with the purpose of stimulating the discussion on ICF will be written as a product of the event and posters will be generated during the event, documenting the ideas and discussions.

This two-day event will have a more informal and inclusive program. All participants will be there on equal terms, united by an online platform. The symposium will focus on teaching, but as a priority approach in teaching skills, with the participation of people from different professional backgrounds with international experience in their fields.

Researchers, clinicians and managers with interest and previous experience in Interprofessional Education or Education on the ICF, ICF Experts, ICF Educators, ICF Advisors and ICF Lovers.
